Barb began practicing Bikram yoga in 2009. Forty-nine years of dancing, hiking and living had taken its toll leading to chronic knee, hip and back pain. Immediately hooked as the pain disappeared, the benefits of a regular practice were realized. As an RN, Barb is a die-hard advocate of Bikram yoga as a therapy for chronic disease and all health related issues.

Meet the Faculty
Missy
Missy’s yoga journey began in 2004 when she was searching for a creative way to create movement in the body while simultaneously relieving stress. She instantly fell in love with the complexity of strength combined with flexibility, energy combined with serenity, and the art of the practice coupled with the science of yoga. In 2008 Missy decided to take her skill as a professional educator and combine it with her love of yoga by attending Bikram’s Yoga Teacher Training in Acapulco, MX. After experiencing the joy of helping others reach their potential through the practice of yoga she continued her education by completing certifications in Pilates and barre (with an emphasis on anatomy kinesiology) before also obtaining her certification in Vinyasa Yoga.
Missy strongly believes in utilizing knowledge of the body and its movement to guide students through their practice. She has studied extensively with professionals in the field of anatomy and kinesiology and has conducted more than 25 trainings and workshops addressing anatomy and kinesiology as it relates to movement in the yoga room. She led several Teacher Training programs during the pandemic. Missy is 500 E-RYT and OHYA Level 3. She has been teaching Bikram, Vinyasa, Yin, and Pilates for 14 years.
